WHAT WE DO

The Human Resources Support Center provides a wide variety of services to the various state agencies, boards, and commissions. It is our mission to provide quality services, foster partnerships and continuously improve the State of Ohio's Human Resource system for the efficient and effective operation of government.

The HR Support Center is comprised of five divisional offices: Certification Services, Drug-Free Workplace, Employment Processing, Employee Records, and State Services.

Certification Services
The Certification Services Unit directly supports DAS's commitment to quality by providing dedicated customer service relative to all certification processes, encompassing the Ohio Revised Code, Chapter 124.23 thru 124.327 and the Ohio Administrative Code, Chapter 123:1-9-01 thru 123:1-47.

Drug Free Workplace
The Drug-Free Workplace Services Program is charged with planning, coordinating, and evaluating Ohio's Drug-Free Workplace Policy including state and federal drug testing programs, and coordinating compliance with all provisions of the Federal Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988 wherein compliance is required for receipt of federal funds.

Employment Processing
The Office of Employment Processing has primary responsibility for civil service testing of prospective state (and in some instances county) employees. The functions of the Office of Employment Processing are established by the Constitution of the state of Ohio, Article XV, Section 10 and the Ohio Revised Code, Chapter 124.

Employee Records
Employee Records is a Unit within the Human Resources Support Center that is responsible for maintaining personnel records for employees of state and county agencies.

State Services
The State Services Unit of the Human Resources Support Center is responsible for ensuring that the Ohio Civil Service Laws, Chapter 124 of the Ohio Revised Code and Chapter 123 of the Ohio Administrative Code are maintained and followed consistently by all state agencies, boards and commissions who document any activity significantly affecting any employee in state service.
