Welcome to the professional development program for the exempt employees of participating agencies* of the state of Ohio. The program is designed to provide opportunities for education and performance improvement of exempt employees to better serve the state of Ohio.

To insure timely processing and payment, read the policy, eligibility guidelines and application process descriptions attached to each application.

Tuition reimbursement is available up to $3,000 per fiscal year for courses that offer college credit. Tuition reimbursement is also available for Human Resources Academy-SHRM or the Ohio Certified Public Manager Program. Click on a button to the right for the details and an application.

Employees are eligible for an interest free loan of up to $1,800 to purchase a computer and/or computer equipment. Click on the button to the right for the eligible equipment and an application.

Click here for Computer Vendor listing.

Funds are available for Professional Development Events (PDE) which include: workshops, seminars, conferences, computer training and other eligible programs sponsored by DAS Human Resources Division.

Eligible employees have the option of using either the reimbursement or pre-pay option, as long as the event and costs meets the eligibility guidelines.

Once an application is submitted, an employee cannot withdraw the application and re-submit under the alternative application, e.g. if one has submitted a reimbursement application, one cannot withdraw this application and submit an application for pre-payment.

  • Pre-payment is available for events having a cost that does not exceed $1,000.00 or the balance of an employee’s available fiscal year funds, whichever is less. Please use the PDE Pre-Pay Application when submitting your application.
  • Reimbursement is available for any PDE including an event costing more than $1,000.00 that meets eligibility guidelines.

Click on a button to the right for an application, policy and instructions. Click here for specific instructions for the Blueprint for Lifelong Learning catalog programs.
