What You Need to Know Before Enrolling

The essentials: The focus of PASS Level 2 is to build skills in teambuilding, team membership and project support responsibilities.

Weekly supervisory communication and coaching is essential to the success of the participant and project!

How to Enroll
  • Attendance is required for all 14-weeks of this program.  Please verify that your schedule allows you to attend each of the dates listed.

  • When your application has been accepted, you will receive a confirmation notice from the DAS Office of Training & Development.

  • Participants must be able to prove that theyhave received management approval to attend this class.

  • After receiving management approval to attend, please complete the application found at Training & Development Application and Fax application to (614) 232-1609. 

  • Both the Personal and Employee Job Information areas must be completed before your application is considered for enrollment.

What is PASS Level 2?

Building on all of the skills learned during PASS Level 1, PASS Level 2 will be a learning process that will challenge the participants current skills on several levels. PASS Level 2 requires the following commitments from each participant.

  • Creative Thinking
  • Willingness to try new processes weekly
  • Take responsibility for individual and group task completion on a weekly basis

PASS 2 learning activities are classroom based, but require some outside assignments between course dates. A Pre and Post ACT WorkKeys Teambuilidng assessment is conducted.


PASS Program – Level 2 Curriculum

Orientation Day
The class will include program expectations, the WorkKeys assessment on Team Building, and prepare you for the next 14-weeks.

Project Management Made Easy!
Learn the basics of project and team management as you learn about the team roles, developing charters and mastering skills necessary to be an involved team member and leader. A re-focus will be conducted on MBTI and how personality type affects personal and team behaviors. This program uses the foundations of project management techniques as the guiding principles of the program.

Leadership and MBTI - Team Time
The program will help develop the natural leadership abilities of every participant using the skills and knowledge gained in Level 1 with a focus on MBTI and interpersonal communication challenges. Team meeting time will finish this class day.

Project Team Day
The design and accurate use of a project planning tool is essential to the completion of a project. The BASICS of MS Project will be covered to create a team Gantt Chart, along with learning some other project management tools. You will also spend time with your project team completing individual and group tasks regarding your assigned project. Facilitators will be onsite to assist in the weekly team processes.

Time Management
Time Management will include clearly defining goals, scheduling, discussing and prioritizing short-term and long-term goals. The design and accurate use of a project-planning tool is essential to the completion of a project. The teams will produce an in-depth project timeline. You will also spend time with your project team completing individual and group tasks regarding your assigned project.

Critical Thinking & Problem Solving
Team projects require every member to have a cadre of decision-making analysis and problem solving techniques for individual and group issues. You will learn the skills necessary to work through conflict and project challenges using a dedicated method that can be applied in all facets of a work day.

MS PowerPoint & Team Day
This session will teach the basics of the most powerful presentations software available. You will also be spending time with your project team refining the project product for the Day 14 presentation.

Put it in Writing for Report Writing Skills
Building upon what was learned in PASS Level 1, this session will focus on the development and writing of a project report.
Weeks 9-13
Project Team Days
All project team days will begin with a team building activity designed to teach a new skill applicable to the program and back on-the-job. PASS Level 2 requires teams to create a program-end product, project reports and team presentations based upon the assigned project. Team days will help you master the skills taught in the program through hands-on assignments.
