Graduation ceremonies were held at the Ohio statehouse on October
19, 2001 for the second class to complete Ohio's Certified Public
Manager Program. Governor Bob Taft praised 19 individuals for
completing 300 hours of courses geared toward management careers
in government.

Taft said, "Today's graduates deserve our
thanks and praise for investing their time and energy to become
outstanding public servants. Each has demonstrated the skills
we'll need to manage our state in the years ahead."

Director Scott Johnson, from the Ohio Department
of Administrative Services (Johnson also chairs the OCPM Program
Advisory Board) presented certificates to the graduates.

Deputy Director, Charles Wheeler from the Ohio
Department of Administrative Services, Human Resources Division,
hosts the graduation ceremony.

Director Sam Speck, from the Ohio Department of
Natural Resources, was the motivational and keynote speaker for
the graduates.

Larry Totten. President-Elect for the American
Academy of Certified Public Managers and Victoria Gatien, Ohio's
CPM Program Manager.
