Arbitration School

Purpose

To provide the HR professional with a comprehensive overview of the labor arbitration process. This interactive course utilizes a variety of teaching methods to involve the participant, i.e., case studies, group (large and small) discussion and lecture.

Topics:

The presentation will address:

Purpose

HRA Program Orientation & Myers-Briggs Type Indicator

Purpose

Provides an overview of HRA courses and certification requirements.

An introduction to type theory, identifying the gifts and strengths within each of us. The “key” activity is for the participant to identify and explore their individual type as well as discuss the other types. As human resources professionals, it is important that you not only understand yourself, but others as well.

Purpose

To provide government (state, county and city) human resources professionals with comprehensive instruction regarding how to perform job analysis for the development of position descriptions, position specific minimum qualifications (PSMQ's) and employee selection tools.

  • Purpose and process of attaching PSMQ's to positions
  • Job analysis process:
    • Conducting effective data gathering sessions

Windmills (Disability Awareness Training)

Purpose

The Windmills program is specifically designed to train human resources (HR) and management personnel to effectively evaluate, hire and supervise people with disabilities.

Topics:

The program consists of fast-paced, fun, one-hour modules that encourage participation and interaction.

The modules consist of practical exercises and information that can be immediately utilized in your role as an HR professional.

Presentation will:

  • Provide participants with an opportunity to evaluate their perception of those with disabilities and issues related to conducting employment interviews with persons who have a disabilities
  • Provide an opportunity to discuss the issues related to communicating with an employee who has a disability
  • Provide participants with an opportunity to ask questions regarding how to deal appropriately with people who may have a disabilities
