| If Your Claim Is Approved
You will receive 100 percent of your base rate of pay while you are disabled as a result of an Occupational Injury Leave (OIL) injury. You may use any of your leave time to receive your wages while you are waiting for OIL to be approved. If it is approved, your leave time will be reinstated and OIL will be paid from the first day you were unable to work. OIL benefits are limited to a maximum number of hours determined by your bargaining unit. Refer to your union contract to find your bargaining unit's maximum. If you have exhausted OIL, you may be eligible to receive continued lost time benefits from the Bureau of Workers' Compensation. You and your attending physician will need to file a Request for Temporary Total Compensation (Form C 84). You can usually get this form from your attending physician. If not, you can obtain the form by contacting the BWC. |
